THE METAL FOUNDRY was started in early 2014 after originally being known as OBSERVE THE MUSIC. It started as a blog dedicated to reviewing, interviewing and promoting local unheard talent. The dream grew bigger and expanded to wanting to cover metal music worldwide from signed artists to local up and coming talent. Covering a range of all kinds of metal from black metal to avant-garde metal, this site dedicates itself to showing its viewers something new daily.
The blog is ran and managed by Neil Andersen. Neil is the son of a music journalist and eventually made a name for himself with his published review in Entertainment Weekly at the age of 15. After many years of freelance writing for online and paper publications, he decided to create his own place where he could cover all kind of metal music from around the world and give them a chance to be heard whether from an interview, review or even a news post about a new song released.
The name changed to Metal Purgatory June 2014 due to legal problems with another company of a similar name so the site became a different name but upholds the same information as before.
This site plans to continually bring you interesting news, interviews and reviews world wide in the wide aspects of the metal community. We appreciate your comments, views, and those who follow us every step of the way.
